Information We Collect

We process account information such as your email address, display name, authentication records and account settings.

We process assessment results, programme progress, lesson completions, activity records and practice logs so the app can deliver the programme, save progress and unlock content.

If you buy a subscription, we receive payment and subscription identifiers, plan, status, renewal and cancellation information from Stripe. Stripe processes your full payment details. We do not store your full card number.

Most information is collected directly from you or generated through your use of the service. We also receive limited account, authentication and subscription information from the providers you use to sign in or pay.

An email address, authentication information and essential account records are required to create and secure an account. The information requested at checkout is required to enter and administer a paid subscription. If you do not provide it, we cannot create the relevant account or subscription.

Optional Written Reflections

Written reflections, journal entries and milestone reflections may contain personal or sensitive information, including information about your wellbeing. Storage is optional and remains off unless you separately consent to it. You can use the programme without storing written text.

You can withdraw reflection storage consent at any time. Withdrawal stops future writing from being stored but does not automatically delete writing already saved. Existing saved writing can be downloaded or permanently deleted from your Profile.

Why We Use Your Information

We use account, programme and subscription information because it is necessary to provide the service and perform our contract with you.

We use separate consent for storing optional written reflections. Where those reflections include special category information, such as information about health or wellbeing, that consent is also the condition we rely on to store it.

We may process limited information to meet legal obligations, including tax, accounting and consumer protection requirements. We may use limited technical, security and aggregated usage information for our legitimate interests in protecting, maintaining and improving the service, provided those interests do not override your rights.

How We Use and Share Information

We use personal information to authenticate you, operate your account, deliver programme content, save permitted progress and reflections, manage subscriptions, provide support, prevent misuse and comply with law.

We use service providers for hosting, authentication, data storage, payment processing, communications and essential technical operations. These include Wix for the public website, Base44 for the app platform, Stripe for payments, the authentication provider you choose and Google Workspace for business email. Analytics providers may process limited website or technical usage information where enabled and, where required, subject to your cookie choices. Providers may process information only as needed to provide their services or meet their own legal obligations.

We do not sell personal information. Written reflection content is not used for advertising or product analytics.

International Processing

Some service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where required, we use providers and safeguards intended to protect personal information in accordance with UK data protection law.

Website Cookies and Analytics

The public website and app may use essential cookies needed for security, authentication and core functionality. Non-essential analytics or similar technologies are used only where permitted and, where required, after you have made an appropriate cookie choice. Further information is provided in the Cookie Policy on The Internal Leader website.

Automated Decisions

The Internal Leader does not use personal information to make solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.

How Long We Keep Information

We keep account and programme information while your account remains active and for only as long afterward as reasonably needed for support, security, legal or accounting purposes.

Optional written reflections remain until you delete them, withdraw consent and request deletion, or your account is deleted, subject to limited backup retention. Payment and transaction records may be retained for the period required by tax, accounting and legal obligations.

Security

Access to user records is restricted through account and owner based controls. Other users cannot access your reflections, journals or progress data. Limited authorised platform or administrative access may occur where necessary to operate, secure or support the service, or comply with law.

Your Rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct, erase or restrict your personal information, object to certain processing, receive portable data and withdraw consent. Withdrawing consent does not make earlier lawful processing invalid.

You can export your app data and delete saved written reflections from your Profile. Full account deletion is not yet self service and can be requested by emailing hello@theinternalleader.com. Some information may need to be retained where the law requires it.

Children

The Internal Leader is intended for adults aged 18 or over and is not knowingly offered to children.

Complaints

Please contact us first if you have a privacy concern. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.

Changes to This Notice

We may update this notice when our service, suppliers or legal obligations change. We will show the current version and provide notice of material changes where appropriate.
